Savannah Larkin

Social Studies Teacher

Savannah has over six years of experience in education in a variety of settings including middle and high school social studies and adult English language classes. She holds a degree in Social Science Teaching from Brigham Young University and a professional teaching license in history, geography, psychology. economics, and government. She is passionate about creating an equitable classroom centered on student-driven learning and focuses on using a variety of interactive teaching methods.

Savannah says this of her teaching philosophy, "my goal in the classroom is to help students understand how the history we study affects both our society as a whole and their lives personally. When this connection is made, they become intrinsically motivated to learn and make discoveries about the world they live in. That's the real magic of teaching."

In her free time, Savannah enjoys spending time with her husband and friends, playing tennis, reading classic literature, and cooking. As a Louisiana native, she prides herself on introducing her Utah social circle to the likes of gumbo, jambalaya, and beignets. She loves traveling, especially to historically-relevant places and is particularly in love with the city of Rome and the islands of Croatia.
